This 2-day School Water Audit Unit workshop will prepare teachers to engage their students in relelvant STEM learning. The School Water Audit unit is designed to augment curriculum and inspire students to take action in their community -- 6th through 12th grade educators, register today!
When engaged in this unit, students will use an engineering design process to:
install high-efficiency devices on water fixtures
make recommendations to save water
communicate their findings
Students taking part in this Aqua STEM Unit will learn to make distinctions, break systems into parts and organize parts into systems, identify relationships, and take perspectives which will give them the means to think through their own ideas and apply their learning to new situations. This is Systems Thinking that leads to Real World Solutions.
Teachers receive a teacher-tested STEM unit that utilizes 3-Dimensional teaching and is correlated to current state science standards. They learn to use systems thinking and to teach systems thinking. And they receive all of the unit materials and on-going Arizona Project WET support including a unit launch presentation from one of our Community Coordinators plus audit planning support and facilitation.
