This 2-day Rainwater Harvesting Academy will prepare teachers to engage their students in real world STEM activities.
Students will:

• Learn the systems and processes involved in harvesting rain.
• Use a model of a rainwater harvesting system to deepen computational thinking.
• Understand the cause and effect relationships between rainwater supply and landscape demand.
• Discover how weather patterns impact the quantity of rainwater collected and scale of the collection system.

All Aqua STEM Units use Science and Engineering Practices to help students ask questions, define problems and design real world solutions.

Specialized curriculum unit, coaching, in-class presentation, and field event facilitation are provided as a part of every Aqua STEM Teacher Academy.

Please Note: “Bringing Science Standards to Life with Systems Thinking” is a Pre-requisite for any Aqua STEM units.
