This grant is made by the Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation on behalf of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation and its operations. Community Investment Funds (CIFs) have been established in communities near our operations in Colorado, New Mexico and southeastern Arizona. The CIFs engage community leaders in cultivating and assessing community projects that address identified priority areas, and allow them to allocate Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation funds to projects that have a positive, sustainable impact. Each CIF is governed by a committee of 7 to 10 community representatives as well as two company representatives. The committee reviews all proposals and determines which projects best address the community’s priority areas, while also producing a sustainable benefit or contributing to overall community sustainability.
