Recharge the Rain
Are you interested in building community resiliency to hazards associated with increased temperatures, drought and flooding in Arizona? Arizona Project WET and Watershed Management Group are calling on 6-12th grade Tucson teachers to participate in Recharge the Rain project sponsored by NOAA.
Students examine how water moves through earth materials under the guidance of a volunteer lesson facilitator.
Flagstaff Water Festival invited NAU teacher candidates to guide students through the groundwater system using three models: the earth materials tubes, groundwater flow model, and the student groundwater models. The earth materials tubes demonstrate how water moves through the gaps and spaces in between earth materials, such as sand and gravel.

Arizona Project WET strives to stay abreast of current education pedagogy. Our workshops have became multiday academies infused with lessons for STEM integration; modeling the use of relevancy, rigor, critical thinking,and problem solving skill development that makes the connection between the Common Core Standards and STEM education through the relevant subject of water; and giving teachers the competencies to enhance student engagement and help students master 21st Century learning skills!
